I’m Ivy Jiang (蒋逸云). I go by she/they, and you can also call me pengsongmao (蓬松猫). I’m currently a Brooklyn-based creative technologist, developer, and artist.
But before that sounds too serious, I’m actually a coder, gamer, film lover, street dance lover, cat lover (without a cat), solo traveller, backpacker, cocktail lover, bubble tea enthusiast, Duolingo user... Basically a not-sure-ist.
I don’t really like defining things too firmly. I’m drawn to fluid, uncertain, in-between states. I enjoy living that way, and try to bring that sensibility into my work as well. This sense of in-betweenness also resonates with my experience as a Chinese queer woman, and often finds its way into my work through feminist, queer, and fluid perspectives.
My practice spans game engines, real-time graphics, AI, XR, interactive systems, etc. I enjoy using code and mathematics to create playful interactions, immersive experiences, and beautiful visuals. Many of my works explore embodied, multi-sensory ways of experiencing stories.
I also write from time to time, exploring experimental forms of storytelling to capture and convey the subtle emotional states of lived experience.
If you’ve read this far, maybe you’re a little interested! Feel free to reach out, whether for work, collaboration, or just to make a friend. I’m not really a social media person, but I’m much better at real world hellos <3
(^ↀᴥↀ^) Pengsongmao actually means fluffy cat.
